May Newsletter
Happy May PSA Members,
We can hardly believe that our second annual Trade Show and Networking Event is a little more than one month away! We're so excited to see everyone in person. If you haven't marked your calendar, please take a moment to save the date: Monday June 22nd from 10am - 4pm at Archer Hotel in Napa.
We have a wonderful mix of returning vendors and new vendors that will be showcasing their product lines. We have an exciting new category of apparel vendors including Lise Charmel, Bella Dahl, Bromelia Swim, sunglasses and accessories. In addition, we have a few vendors who are launching their brands, so you'll be the first to see them!
The most important intention of our alliance is to bring together our spa community to build meaningful connections, support, collaboration, and friendship. In our industry of caring for others, it's equally important that we create space to gather in person and strengthen our relationships to help fuel us both personally and professionally.
Your presence at the show will contribute to the energy and inspiration of the day. We look forward to welcoming each and everyone of you in June!
Sending our best,
Karen and Kimberly

Kim Borio, Founder, Glycelene
Share how you got started in the beauty industry and what inspired you to create Glycelene
I began my career at 18 as a skincare specialist and celebrity makeup artist working in television, fashion, and on the red carpet during the early rise of high-definition media. As someone who struggled with lifelong eczema, sensitivities, inflammation, and fragrance allergies, I found myself searching for products that could truly support compromised skin, not only for myself, but also for the Talent in my chair experiencing many of the same concerns.
After more than a decade searching for a cosmetic chemist who could bring my vision to life, I met my husband Eric, a skin biologist and cosmetic chemist, and together we founded our own laboratory and created Glycelene to merge high-performance natural formulations with barrier repair, anti-aging benefits, and a beautiful sensory aromatherapy for overall skin health.
How has your approach to skincare evolved over the years?
I'm focusing primarily on beauty and aesthetics behind the scenes to prioritizing long-term skin health and overall wellness. What began as creating innovative, age-defying breathable ointments for compromised skin eventually evolved into a full luxury spa and wellness skincare line designed for high-end spas and resorts, always with the intention of combining visible results with a luxurious sensory experience.
What continues to fuel your passion? Tell us something about you that might surprise our readers.
My passion is the creative process of developing products and creating meaningful experiences through skincare. I’ve always believed skincare should be both results-driven and emotionally uplifting, combining science, scent, and ritual in a way that makes people feel truly cared for.
Back in the day, I created my own travel and beauty show I wanted to pitch to the big networks. I called it, Beauty Secrets from Around the World. I spent years traveling the world on my own as a solo female traveler, searching for beauty rituals, ingredients, and skincare secrets from different cultures around the world.
My skincare products and the aromatherapy in each product were inspired by those experiences and discoveries, with each one connected to a memory, ingredient, or moment from a place that left a lasting impression on me.
