September Newsletter
Happy September PSA Members!
There’s a lot of conversation in our industry right now about what today’s spa guest is looking for. Spas are continually exploring new ways to meet evolving guest expectations by adapting, adding services, and introducing new experiences. The answer may not always be about adding more, it may be about helping guests discover the greater value in what you already have.
Many guests still book a massage because their body feels stressed, a facial because their skin needs attention, or a spa day because they finally have time to relax. How do we begin shifting that thinking from a 'quick fix' to encourage regular self-care as an important part of their overall health and well-being?
Here are a few ideas:
Get your team involved. Give your team natural phrases to add to their guest conversations. 'I'd love to help you work on your back issue.' 'I can help make a difference with your skin with a few consecutive appointments.' 'I can build on what we started today with another session.
Create Consistency. Meaningful results come from consistency. Offer memberships, packages and series. Educate your guests on the value of consistency to build stronger relationships, encourage rebooking, and make better use of the services already on your menus.
Sell the journey, not the appointment. Instead of asking the guest what they would like to book, identify what the guest is looking for and how they want to feel when they leave. Then, suggest the service or experience.
There's plenty more to share this month, including Blue Beautifly's generous member-only offer in our Product Feature Section, exciting offers in Community News, and our interview with Sandra Jones, Director of Sales with Lise Charmel. So please read on, and enjoy September!

LISE CHARMEL
Tell us what inspired your start in the apparel industry.
I grew up inspired by my mother and maternal grandmother, strong women who were always impeccably dressed, tailored, and elegant, and who understood the power of appearance to command respect and attention.
They deeply influenced how I viewed fashion and ultimately how I chose to dress and express myself. After more than 30 years in the fashion industry, I remain passionate about craftsmanship and preserving the French savoir-faire and ateliers that are increasingly threatened by fast fashion and its environmental impact. My philosophy has always been simple: less is more, and quality over quantity.
LISE CHARMEL is known for its elegant lingerie and swimwear. Tell our members more about the brand and what makes it unique.
LISE CHARMEL is more than a French lingerie and swimwear Maison; it is a celebration of couture craftsmanship, femininity, sensuality, and artistic expression, rooted in exceptional French savoir-faire. Family-owned since1946, the Maison designs every collection in-house, from the first sketch to its exclusive laces, embroideries, and prints, combining heritage with constant innovation.
As expert corsetiers, we create pieces engineered to fit like a glove, enhance the silhouette, and deliver exceptional support and comfort. Behind the beauty, our swimwear is highly technical, using premium shaping fabrics, UV-resistant materials, water-repellent foams, quick-dry technologies, convertible constructions, and refined zamak hardware.
What are you personally passionate about, and how do you make time for self-care and well-being?
I have always been deeply curious, with a natural sensitivity to beauty, whether I find it in art, fashion, architecture, literature, or in the way different cultures express themselves. Living in several countries has shaped me profoundly and nurtured my love of languages. I am now learning Japanese, a language and culture I feel especially connected to after spending nearly three months in Japan. I was particularly moved by chadō, “the way of tea,” and by its quiet rituals, which taught me how much I value stillness, presence, and moments that bring me back to myself. Swimming gives me that same sense of calm, especially in the Julia Morgan-designed pool where I swim each week, a place where water, architecture, and beauty come together in a way I find deeply restorative.
